Make a Commitment to God

Do you always feel overwhelmed by all the things that need to get done?

Are you struggling with what other people are going to think?

What if you fail and you don’t succeed?

Or maybe you are just struggling to feel joy, peace, or contentment?

I want to reassure you that you have a 100% chance of feeling better when you stay committed to believing God’s truth.

Commitment is not always fun, but we all have things we NEED to do and SHOULD do that we don’t really FEEL like doing.

If you are anything like me, your commitment to God can sometimes be lacking.

The definition of commitment is the state of being dedicated to a cause or an “obligation that restricts freedom”.

I don’t know about you but that definition doesn’t leave me standing in line at the volunteer counter pleading for more things to commit to…

It’s important for us to understand commitment isn’t a feeling it’s an action.

It’s not always an “I want to”, but sometimes it’s an “I need to” or “I should”.

I mean seriously, who wants to feel obligated to restrict their freedom?? Not me!!

But, even when you don’t want to, decide to make a commitment to God, no matter how you feel. Because that is what WILL CHANGE THE WAY YOU FEEL.

This is what will change your life!

It’s what will bring you joy, peace, and perseverance over your depression and anxiety.

His Word should be our final authority as Christians and choosing this one commitment will help keep the rest of your life in check.

When tempted to give up, throw in the towel, and lose hope, the Word of God through the power of the Spirit gives you the ability to persevere.

It gives you the ability to focus on what’s true instead of the overwhelming thoughts you’re telling yourself.

He never promised life will be easy… but He did say it’s good when we do His work and fulfill our purpose for the glory of God.

It’s not easy, and some days are just plain hard…

From struggling relationships to financial hardships…

Demanding schedules, work stress, and raising children to health challenges…

Thankfully, the Bible deals with all these issues and teaches us what we should do when times get tough.

“Commit to the LORD whatever you do and your plans will succeed.” Proverbs 16:3

Allow this scripture to be your truth, today. Use it to change the way you’re thinking about who you are and your ability to be successful by committing to God!

This week, I have small group Bible study tonight, and tomorrow evening I am meeting with the VBS group to plan what we will need to do a study with the Milk Project students while we are in Honduras.

I am reading scriptures from my bible’s reference words located in the back. I choose a word each day and read the scriptures for that word. I want to fill my mind with God’s word. ❤
