Learn, Grow, Change

Humans are the ultimate adaptation machines.
God gave us a very powerful brain that can learn, grow, and change. No other species on the planet has that ability.Pretty cool, huh?

So then, if we were given such a powerful brain, why do we have such a negative voice inside of us saying we can’t change, can’t control our emotions, and we aren’t capable of living our desired life?

( I know you’ve been thinking it’s just your brain, but it’s not…you are not alone!!!)

The answer to these questions is actually pretty simple.
It’s because of the truth above.

God gave us a very powerful brain that can learn, grow, and change.

This is a really good thing for learning what we WANT to learn, while at the same time a really crappy thing for learning “truths” we DON’T WANT to learn that aren’t true about us and not serving our purpose at all.

Because our brains adapt SO WELL, they learn like a sponge.

Your brain has been soaking up EVERYTHING you hear, see, say, do, feel, and think, since you were born.

It’s true!

Take a minute to think about the destructive and untrue beliefs you’ve been taught, told, heard, and said about who you are…

Couple that with the comparisons on the playground, TV,  and social media your brain has been trying to make sense of since you were 5 years old.

Now, as if that isn’t enough, think about the fear driven content your brain has picked up on while listening to the news, friends conversations at school, dates at the local coffee shop, and break room chatter your entire life.

Is it starting to make sense?

BUT I HAVE GOOD NEWS (and a little bad as well)…

Just because our brain says it, doesn’t mean it’s true.

You can learn to renew our mind to see the good and pleasing will that God created for YOU.

Let’s break down the bad news first:

  • Your brain has created thoughts and beliefs about you that are not true of who you are since you were really young.
  • Your brain listens to everything you hear, say, and do, and creates a belief about it.
  • Your brain sees what others are doing and creates comparisons, making you feel ill-equipped to do it better or even at all.

Drum roll for the good news: 🥁🥁🥁

  • Your brain is not against you, and it was created to learn, change, and adapt to what is true.
  • You can change the conditioned beliefs and lies your brain has been telling you for years.
  • You can get control of the way that you feel and begin to love who God created you to be.

FOR EVERY BAD, THERE IS A GOOD, MY FRIEND!

Your mind may seem full of negativity, worry, and doubt today, but you can create a more positive, mindful, and confident brain.

How would more confidence, positivity, and mindfulness change your life?

If I can do it, you can do it!

You just have to understand this simple truth…

All of your behaviors follow your feelings, and the way you feel is determined by your beliefs.

To begin making progress in changing your life, you have to begin with changing your beliefs.

Once you change your beliefs about who you are and what is true for you, you will change the way you feel.

Once you change the way you feel, you guessed it… your actions, behavior, and outcomes for your life WILL CHANGE!

I truly believe this truth, Kiley. I appreciate you and thank God he led me to you and your teaching. ❤️ 🙏 I have been working hard to renew my thinking for almost a year; however, it is paying off as my negative unhelpful thoughts are being replaced with God’s truth. I have more freedom from anxiety/overwhelm and I am enjoying life so much more. I have a ways to go and try to be patient as it is taking time to with God’s help tear down the strongholds I have built up in my mind about all the “what ifs”, “would of, should ofs” and ” I can’t change”. Thank you for your help along the way.
