God Chooses You
I often think about those in the Bible and how their lives must have been.
I especially can’t help but think of Jesus’ mother Mary.
The girl, chosen by God, to bear His only Son. And she was much like you and me.
I wish I knew more about her…don’t you?
As I read, she seems very common, yet God chose her for an incredible purpose.
I think it’s because He knew her heart. He knew her kind of LOVE was unconditional.
He knew she could withstand what was to come.
She was willing and fully turned toward God to fulfill the mission she didn’t completely understand.
I can’t say I have always been willing to follow God’s mission for my life.
I can’t say I have always kept HIS FOCUS as MY FOCUS, especially as a tired mother.
Can I get an AMEN?
Being a mom isn’t a stress free and glamorous calling for most women.
Maybe you’re a mother so you can totally relate to the coffee stained t-shirt and sleepless nights. I know I can… Haha
But even if you’re not a mother, I think you totally get it as well.
You have a mother and you have been surrounded by moms your entire life.
And while being a mother is no easy task… certainly being the mother to Jesus didn’t feel like a walk in the park.
God chose Mary to be Jesus’ mom and that was extraordinary.
And God chose you, which is extraordinary as well.
Just as God chose a special person to mother His son, God especially chose you to…
be a mother
be a father
be a sister
be a brother
be a friend
In Matthew 22:37-40 Jesus responded to a question, “Which is the greatest commandment in the law?”
He replied, “ Love the Lord your God with all of your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
Before the beginning of time God set the trajectory of your life into motion and it was set with LOVE.
God is love and He created us to be loved and to love with a willing heart.
All those who came before you were ordered to put you at this particular moment and place reading this blog, right now.
Pretty cool to think about isn’t it, my friend?
I want you to close your eyes and allow yourself to feel the love of the moms before you who influenced your life.
Even those who maybe didn’t know how to show it well. God loved them and He put them in your life for a reason.
He knew you needed them and they needed you.
He is a loving God with a purpose and plan for you… one of joy, peace, and LOVE.
He knew this was the best position in time and the perfect location in the world for you to know Him and for your life to display His Love.
Just as God knew Mary, He knows you. His plans for you are a forever, abundant life of goodness, grace, and LOVE.
Keep spreading His love.
